In an interview with the West Volusia Beacon last month, Janke said, “We’re adding the internet and health and safety features. Everything else I want to be vintage.”
More than just the vintage ambience, Janke wants guests to have an experience like no other, “offering 1925 hospitality with complimentary everything,” he said. At check-in, for instance, guests can receive a free beer or glass of wine, and free bottled water is available throughout the stay. Planned for the near future are free continental breakfasts. Also, a full-service restaurant is in the works.
The hotel received its first guest on September 2 of this year. The hotel currently has 30 rooms to choose from. Room rates range from $95 to $165 a night. Reservations can be made by calling 386-624-6710 or emailing Info@TheDelandHotel.com. The website is www.TheDelandHotel.com.
